Ci’en Pagoda was built in 1971 by President Chiang Kai-shek in memory of his mother. It stands 46 meters tall on Shabalan Mountain (954m above sea level). A 700m trail leads up to the pagoda, which is also a famous spot for watching fireflies in season.
